Stairs Homework

Our clients use a variety of methods and materials in expressing their concepts and values through their art. In response to this, it is important to understand how they represent themselves in order to provide them a piece of architecture suitable for their gallery.

Fiona Hall



Fiona Hall enjoys making her creations out of pvc pipe, glass beads, wire, vitrine as seen in the above picture, visit here, but she is well known to be very adventurous in the materials in which she uses from wool pile on cotton wrap in Clearing, alluminium tin in Paradisus Terestris to carved and moulded soap and cardboard supermarket carton in Give a Dog a Bone series. Many of her work play with light with the textures of the materials chosen so this should be considered throughout the project.

Tracy Moffatt



However, tracy enjoys presenting her work in different print and photography techniques, such as Ilfochrome as seen above, installations as used in her 2007 Portraits and Doom on different materials such as rag paper, Laudanum. Open environments will help emphasise her art as they have previously been displayed.



Experimentation with Stairs in 2nd Section

The original words were wither and possession however, from the research, I decided to turn it to look more like growth and beauty rather than wither to more closely represent Fiona's work and to remove the face for Tracy Moffat as it was too similar to one of Fiona's work.
